THE EVENT WILL RETURN TO HARDWICK HOTEL AND PARK (first time since 2019..!!)
The event will consist of an exciting urban parkland athletics style event in the grounds of Hardwick Hall Hotel and Hardwick Park on Thursday 15th June 2023 from 4-8pm. Schools are initially invited to enter up to two teams(please state number of teams in the comments box). (There may be a small charge for extra t-shirts)
One team consists of:
2 x Y3 Girls, 2 x Y3 Boys
2 x Y4 Girls, 2 x Y4 Boys
2 x Y5 Girls, 2 x Y5 Boys
2 x Y6 Girls, 2 x Y6 Boys
Total = 16 athletes. 8 athletes will compete in the track events and 8 athletes will complete in the field events (e.g. 1xY3 Girl Track, 1xY3 Girl Field). The track event will be a 300m ‘DASH!’ along the “Grand Terrace” and the field events are on the lawns of the Hotel and will be Chest Push and Long Jump.
All children taking part will receive a T-Shirt to compete in and a participation certificate.
To add to the vibrancy of the DASH! we encourage parents, siblings and friends to attend. The event will be an exciting spectacle with ‘come & try it’ activities for all family members to have a go at, as well as fun activities including a Modern Pentathlon Laser Gun activity and a Durham Cricket bowling Challenge. There will also be a prize draw for pupils who complete our Community Village challenge, a couple of Parents races (Ramside Hotel Spa Vouchers as prizes) as well as a Fit For Life Mascot Challenge!
More details will be sent to entered schools nearer the time with regards to arrival, parking, staffing and event format.
