FORMAT:

COMPETE = competitive races for those pupils

PARTICIPATE = a range of fun relay races and athletic challenges for B/C team pupils

Track Events

• Girls 60m / Boys 60m
• Girls 100m / Boys 100m
• Girls 60m hurdles / Boys 60m hurdles (Larger SAQ hurdles)
• Girls 800m/ Boys 800m
• Girls 4 x 100m relay / Boys 4 x 100m relay

Field Events

• Girls Howler / Boys Howler
• Girls 600g Shot / Boys 600g Shot
• Girls Long Jump / Boys Long Jump
• Girls Standing Triple Jump / Boys Standing Triple Jump

TEAM REQUIREMENTS:

• Schools need a minimum of 4 girls and 4 boys (Max 12 girls/12 boys) to meet the team entry requirements
• There may be space to enter a B team
• Only one athlete per school per event
• Maximum of 30 pupils per school

RULES:

• The maximum that one athlete can take part in is 1 track, 1 field and 1 relay

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DAY:

• Clothing for outdoor track
• Refreshments / water bottle / packed lunch
• Sun cream
• Medication
• PARENTS MAY SPECTATE FROM THE STAND OR BEHIND THE BARRIER OUTSIDE THE RUNNING TRACK

 PROGRESSION:

• The selected athletes (top two in each event) will represent the Sedgefield District in the County Durham Finals on Friday 30th June at Shildon.

GAMES FOCUS:

SCHOOLS WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO BRING FLAGS, BANNERS, COSTUMES  THE  VALUE WE ARE FOCUSSING ON IS = EXCELLENCE AND TEAMWORK
