FORMAT:
Year 5/6 Hi-5 Netball.
CUP = Compete – most competitive pupils
SHIELD = Participate – B and C team pupils
Completion of the Netball Leagues from previous term
Teams will play in small sided games in a league format and then progress to a knockout stage – either CUP or SHIELD.
TEAM REQUIREMENTS:
- Years 5 & 6 Mixed teams
- 5 a side (Squads of 7-9 players)
- Maximum of 3 boys in a squad (ONLY 2 on court at one time)
RULES:
- Size 4 netball
- Player must rotate after each quarter/half
- Passing or shooting in four seconds
- At the start of play the GS, GA, GD and GK may be anywhere in the goal third. The opposing Centre shall be in the centre third and free to move. When the umpire blows the whistle, the Centre must pass the ball within 4 seconds and obey the Footwork rule. The ball must be caught or touched in the centre third.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DAY:
- Children to bring suitable clothing/ footwear for outdoor courts
- Light refreshments / water bottle and PACKED LUNCH
- Any medication required
- Set of netball bibs
PROGRESSION:
The Winners of the CUP competition will represent the Sedgefield Area at the County Durham Finals on FRIDAY 7th July 2023 at Dene Academy, Easington.
